Andres Jimenez, better known as Dilemastronauta, is not just a musician or producer—he's a pioneering force in the world of Tropical Futuristic music. Born in Colombia and having spent 25 transformative years in the dynamic cultural hub of New York, Dilemastronauta has carved out a bold, genre-defying path with his innovative sound.

 

His groundbreaking albums, En Órbita (2017) and the 8 Supernovas mixtape (2020), have redefined the boundaries of music, while his 2024 single "Llegó" further amplifies his distinct vision.

 

Each release is a vibrant tapestry of percussive folkloric traditions, swirling psychedelia, and audacious improvisational experimentation—an otherworldly blend that pulls listeners into a cosmic journey of sound. With a drumming style as unpredictable as it is captivating, Dilemastronauta is reshaping the landscape of modern Latin music, boldly exploring the intersections of past and future, roots and innovation.

 

This Fall  2025, Dilemastronauta y La Tripulación  Cósmica will release an EP vinyl on Figure and Ground Records, featuring two new singles: "Las Mañanitas de Diciembre" and "La Cumbia de Valentina". These tracks offer a glimpse into his ongoing exploration of Colombian rooted rhythms and melodies as well as experimental synths sounds. 

In addition, he'll debut his first drum-focused album, Ritmos y Tambores del Hiperespacio. 23 tracks of purely drum-based grooves, the album dives into rhythms  recorded onto a tape machine, showcasing his approach to groove and his interest in pushing sonic boundaries.
